Preparing for Writers' Conferences

No, I'm not out of my mind. I know it's a full seven months until KCWC 2010 kicks off. It's just that I ran across a great blog that contains a number of excellent articles on preparing for conferences. They are written by publishing industry professionals, and I just had to share this with you. It's hosted by Shirl Corder, Christian writer from South Africa. She has attended conferences in the U. S., sometimes on scholarship, and has helped organize writer's groups in South Africa.

See her blog at this link. Scroll down to the first post to start your tour.

Shirl has never attended KCWC, but she certainly embodies our theme Bible verse: "Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does" Psalm 96:3 (NLT).

The KCWC committee is furiously planning for June 2010. By the end of November, we should be able to announce the list of faculty and hopefully the workshop list. Virginia Smith will be featured speaker, and she will teach fiction workshops. Some of the 2009 faculty will be returning, but not all.

As 2009 comes to an end, it's time to plan for your conference attendance in 2010. We pray that KCWC will be on your "must-attend" list----June 11-12, 2010.
