2016 Faculty Spotlight: Virginia Smith

It's been far too long! KCWC is pleased to welcome back Virginia Smith!


Virginia Smith, is the bestselling author of twenty-eight novels, an illustrated children’s book, and over fifty articles and short stories. An avid reader with eclectic tastes in fiction, Ginny writes in a variety of styles, from lighthearted relationship stories to breath-snatching suspense. Her books have been awarded multiple awards including the Carol, the Daphne, the Maggie, and the National Reader's Choice Award. Two of her novels have received the Holt Medallion Award of Merit. Workshops:
·         "The Myths of a Career in Writing": Interested in becoming a career author? Publishing veteran Virginia Smith shares the lessons she has learned from her career as a professional writer.

·         "Elements of a Story": Every story, regardless of genre, consists of three elements: Plot, Setting, and Character. Virginia Smith will walk through the each in detail, and share advice on how to make your novel the strongest it can be.
