Faculty Feature: Michelle Medlock Adams

Vivacious, practical, encouraging, funny, and much too young to be the mother of college-age children. Those are the words that come to mind when I recall meeting Michelle Medlock Adams at Kentucky Christian Writers Conference two years ago. When I had my faculty appointment with her, she had some great suggestions on ways to seek publication for my children’s books, so, naturally, I was excited when I found out that Michelle will be joining us again this summer for KCWC.

When I contacted Michelle for an update on her career, she replied the very next day and shared some of her exciting news. First of all, with both of her girls in college, she is spending more time speaking at churches and conferences, including the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference in North Carolina. Also, this fall, she will be teaching “Writing For Children Boot Camp” at Taylor University, acting as an adjunct professor.

Now, as if that’s not enough, she has been ghostwriting over the years for people such as Gloria Copeland, Dr. Creflo A. Dollar, and Victoria Osteen. As a ghostwriter, the author is often given no credit, only a “thank you” inside the book. This year, however, she was recognized on the front cover of the book she co-wrote with former Victoria’s Secret model Kylie Bisutti. It’s called, I’m No Angel: From Supermodel to Role Model.  Bisutti stunned the fashion industry when she chose her faith over fame and quit the industry to become an inspirational speaker.

If all that wasn’t enough, Michelle has two new children’s books being released this month: God Loves Me and God Keeps me Safe (lift-a-flap books) being published by Ideals Children’s Books. Michelle Medlock Adams is certainly a busy lady! We are excited to welcome Michelle back to our 2013 KCWC conference and hope you get a chance to meet this delightful and talented author.
